Child alone at home
With increasing number of parents working, latch key children have to be alone at home on
account of non-availability / cost of daycare or no family member / neighbor to
supervise them. In such situations, the child should be comfortable and want to
stay at home knowing that their parent is aware of their circumstances. |

Most working parents may not have an opportunity to check in on
their children periodically due to work related constraints, causing the child
to get anxious and not want to stay alone at home. Using RedToll, parents can place automated periodic phone calls to the child and check on their
well being. This will give the child some comfort and make it easier for both
parent and child; while making sure that the child is being monitored.
With an estimated 400,000 registered sex offenders and predators, of which
80,000 to 100,000 are missing; it is likely that they could be living in the

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, in the U.S.: |
- Two-thirds (67 percent) of all victims of sexual assault reported to law
enforcement agencies were under the age of 18 at the time of the crime
- One of every seven victims of sexual assault reported to law enforcement
agencies was under age 6
- The year in a male's life when he is most likely to be the victim of a sexual
assault is age 4; a female's greatest risk is at age 14
- Nearly half (49 percent) of the offenders of victims under age 6 were family
members

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, the typical sex offender
molests an average of 117 children, although most offenses are never reported.
In such an environment, checking in on a child periodically and making sure that
they are safe is a paramount responsibility.
Child away from home Parents of children living in dorms have an added level of stress
and concern. Parents are constantly second guessing their child’s situation, despite have
spoken to the child during the day.
